Bargarh: A manager of Chhattisgarh-based jeweller has been robbed of ornaments worth Rs 32 lakh and Rs 2.40 lakh in cash in Odisha’s Bargarh district.
The matter came to light after jeweller Sagar Jain lodged a complaint with the Sohela Police here.
The loot took place while his manager was returning to Raipur from western Odisha, where they regularly did business, by an Alto car with a driver on Friday night. Four miscreants in a four-wheeler intercepted the car near Greengel under Sohela police limits and attacked the manager and the car driver with an iron rod. They then fled with the booty, the complainant said.
According to police sources, a special team led by Padampur SDPO Pradip Sahu has been formed to investigate the case.
The SDPO informed that a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
