Bhubaneswar: In a daring broad daylight robbery, two unidentified miscreants on Thursday looted Rs 4 lakh from an employee of a real estate firm near Sriya Cinema Hall Square in the city.
According to reports, the motorcycle-borne miscreants suddenly pulled Ajay Swain from behind while he was veering his bike towards Ram Mandir to deposit money in a bank. As soon as he fell off the bike, they snatched the bag containing cash.
The incident took place minutes after Swain withdrew money from a branch of ICICI bank located at Sriya Square. The miscreaants fled the spot immediately after committing the crime, police sources said.
Acting on the complaint lodged by the victim at Kharvel Nagar police station, the cops have launched a search operation to trace the looters.
