Angul: Unidentified miscreants looted an automatic teller machine (ATM) of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Talcher town of Odisha’s Angul district.
As per reports, the miscreants broke open the ATM located at Ballahar Chowk of Talcher by using a gas cutter and decamped with cash. The looters were reported to have decamped with cash of amounting to Rs 5 lakh.
The loot was reported to have taken place in the wee hours at the ATM kiosk located in a market complex.
On being informed, a police team visited the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. It appears that the criminals involved in the robbery have expertise in committing such crime.
The police are examining the CCTV footage as part of the probe. It is suspected that the looters have links with criminal gangs outside the state.
