Rourkela: Two miscreants looted over Rs 6.50 lakh from the manager of a private company in Uditnagar area in Rourkela on Monday.
According to sources, the miscreants looted cash from Ranjan Kumar Dhala in front of Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC).
Ranjan withdrew Rs 6.50 lakh cash from State Bank of India (SBI), Udignagar branch and was later riding pillion on a motorcycle. The miscreants came on a motorcycle and snatched the money bag from him and fled.
Ranjan and his friend tried to catch the looters but in vain.
On being informed, Uditnagar police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.
The police are investigating the matter with the help of CCTV footage of the bank.
They have also detained a few suspects and started interrogating them.
A businessman was also looted of Rs 6 lakh in Balangir on Sunday night. The incident took place when Anand Agrawal was returning home on a scooty from his shop at night.
