Keonjhar: A gang of unidentified miscreants robbed cash and ornaments worth over lakhs from Durga temple located near Keonjhar bus stand late on Sunday.
The incident came to the fore when priests of the temple found the locks of the hundi (donation box) broken this morning.
A complaint regarding the loot has been registered with the local police.
According to police sources, the robbers gained entry into the temple after breaking open its door. They looted cash from the hundi (donation box) and other articles including four silver crowns which were used for adorning the idol.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
