Miscreants Open Fire At Driver In Jajpur

Jajpur: One person was critically injured after unidentified miscreants opened fire at him under Panikoili police limits in Jajpur district on Tuesday. The incident took place barely 150m from Jajpur SP office.

The victim, identified as Jamir Khan, was driving a patient in Bolero from Bhadrak to Cuttack, when he was shot at by unidentified men.

As per information, around 3 to 4 miscreants followed the car in a Tata Safari, before intercepting him near Panikoili, and opened fire at Khan.

The critically injured driver was rushed to SCB Hospital in Cuttack and is currently undergoing treatment. Though the exact reason is unknown, past enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the incident.

Meanwhile, Panikoili police have started investigation into the case.
