Balasore: Unidentified miscreants ransacked an ATM kiosk of Axis Bank at Turigadhia Bazaar under Khaira police limits in Balasore district and looted an unspecified amount of money from it.

The matter came to the light this morning after locals spotted the shutter of the kiosk broken. They immediately informed police about the incident.

According to police sources, the ATM kiosk is likely to have been ransacked during midnight. The kiosk was closed for the last two to three days.

However, police and bank officials are yet to ascertain the amount looted from the machine.

An inquiry has been started, though no one has been arrested yet.

On May 4, cash to the tune of Rs 36 lakh was looted from two ATMs in district in similar manner.

The robbers had made away with Rs 26 lakh from one ATM kiosk at Sunhaat and Rs 10 lakh from another State Bank of India (SBI) ATM installed at ITI Square. Both the machines were set on fire after the loot.
