Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants set an SUV on fire on Heket Road in Odisha’s Rourkela in the early hours of Friday.
According to sources, 12 bike-borne youths approached the vehicle while raising slogans and thrashed the three occupants, including a woman, before setting the four-wheeler on fire.
The trio was allegedly carrying some objectionable items in the SUV.
The Scorpio was reduced to ashes before fire personnel could douse the flames. The incident took place around 5.30 am.
DSP Aseem Panda and Tangarpali police have launched a probe into the incident.
