Miscreants Set ATM On Fire In Keonjhar

Barbil: Unidentified miscreants set an ATM of State Bank of India on fire near OMC Square in Barbil of Keonjhar district late on Saturday.

The matter came to light after a person, who had gone to withdraw money from the ATM, noticed the machine completely burnt and alerted the police.

The activity of the miscreants could not be known as the CCTV camera installed inside the kiosk has also been torched to destroy evidence, police sources informed.

The bank officials said that they are yet to ascertain that whether cash was stolen from the machine or not, as it has been damaged completely.

Meanwhile, locals of the area demanded a thorough probe into the incident and deployment of adequate security personnel at different ATM kiosks to prevent further incidents.
