Miscreants Set Fire To ATM After Loot In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Some miscreants set fire to an ATM kiosk after looting around Rs 1 lakh from the machine in the district late Thursday night.

According to police sources, the incident took place at an ATM counter at Rajghat under Basta police limits. The miscreants are suspected to have cut down the cash vending machine with a gas cutter and took out around Rs 1 lakh in cash. Before leaving the place, they set fire to the ATM machine.

On being informed, Basta police along with Fire personnel reached the spot and extinguished the fire.

The police, who have registered a case, said preliminary investigation revealed that more than one miscreant was involved in the loot. But their identity has not been ascertained. It has not been known whey they set fire to the machine, they added.
