Miscreants Torch Five Vehicles At Former BJP Corporator’s House

Bhubaneswar: A group of miscreants torched five vehicles at the house of former BJP corporator Lala Ashok Kumar Ray at Kharvel Nagar here on Tuesday night.

The vehicles included two motorcycles, two scooters and a car.

The incident took place at around 1:30 am when Ray was sleeping in the house. Hearing loud noises, Ray woke up and went outside to see what has happened.

After going out of his house, he saw five of his vehicles on fire and completely damaged.

Following the incident, he lodged a complaint at Kharvel Nagar police station alleging that his vehicles worth Rs 8 to 10 lakh have been set afire by some unidentified assailants.

Police rushed to the spot and started investigation by collecting statements of the neighbours and locals.

However, a political rivalry is being suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
