Bhubaneswar: While the Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police is on a mission to trace out Suhail Ajjaj, a student of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, who has gone missing since February 9, the news that the missing Kashmiri students is seen on the outskirts of New Delhi has revived its hope to find the elusive youth this time.

As per the information, a security guard spotted Suhail in front of an ATM counter of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Gurugram (official name of Gurgaon) area on the outskirts of New Delhi in the morning on Monday. Soon after, the security guard informed the bank officials who immediately passed on the information to the Odisha Police.

Following information, a team of Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police which is currently on a tour to New Delhi in search of Suhail rushed to the bank and asked the security guard about the physical details of the runaway student.

Till reports last came in, police is examining the CCTV footage of the Bank to ascertain whether the youth spotted by the security guard was Suhail.

Along with the Bhubaneswar Police, the father and brother of Suhail are on the lookout for Suhail in Gurugram area.

“The man who had seen Suhail is not available as he had given the message about him. Besides, some people claim to have seen my son near the Metro railway station. But the person they have seen is Suhail or someone of his resemblance is matter of concern,” said Ajjaz Ahmed Kataria, father of Suhail.

He said the CCTV footage being examined by the police would tell whether the youth spotted by the security guard was Suhail or not.

An MBBS second-year student, Suhail left the hostel on February 9 telling his friends that he was leaving for a marriage in Chandigarh and would return in a week. He said he will be travelling through Kolkata. But as he did not return even after nine days, his classmates informed college authorities.

Some friends of Suhail said he was not happy studying medicine. He wanted to complete MBBS and shift to Humanities. He was keen on Urdu poetry. Before leaving the hostel, Suhail had left a note stating that he was not happy.
