Missing Bengal Tourist Found Dead On Sea Beach In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A tourist from West Bengal, who had gone missing in sea in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday, was found dead on the beach on Sunday.

According to sources, the tourist along with some of his friends had gone to bath in the sea at Udaypur under Talasari police station in the district on Saturday. While bathing, the tourist was dragged into deep water by a sea current and went missing.

His friends launched a frantic search with the help of local people for a long time but failed to trace the tourist. They lodged a complaint in this regard at Talasari police station. Since it was already evening, the police decided to start search operation on Sunday.

The police along with Fire services personnel searched for the missing tourist in the sea the entire morning hours. They also could not find him. Later, his body was ashore and spotted by the locals who informed the police in the afternoon.

The police seized the body and informed the family of the deceased tourist. The family members, who have reached Udaypur, would be handed over the body after post-mortem, police sources said.
