Bhubaneswar/Bhawanipatna: The BJP has called 12-hour Kalahandi bandh on Wednesday demanding resignation of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged involvement in the missing lady school teacher case.
The party’s Kalahandi district unit president Debendra Mohanty told the media in Bhawanipatna that the minister was involved in the kidnap and death of lady teacher Mamita Meher of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district. The teacher’s body was found from the school stadium on Tuesday.
Demanding CBI probe into the case, Mohanty said the BJP would enforce 12-hour Kalahandi bandh from 6 am on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media in Bhubaneswar, the BJP’s state general secretary Lekhashree Samantsinghar said chief minister should take disciplinary action against Mishra for misusing his position to mislead the investigation into the case.
If the state government fails to take suitable action in this regard, the BJP will resort to mass agitation across the state, she threatened.
