Bhubaneswar: The body of a man was found hanging in a forest area near Khandagiri hill in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The deceased, identified has been Ganu Sahoo of Aiginia area in Odisha capital, had reportedly gone missing. His family members had lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday stating that Ganu was missing, sources said.
The police had launched a search operation to trace the man. However, locals spotted Ganu’s body hanging from a tree in the forest and immediately informed the Khandagiri police in this regard.
The Khandagiri police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation into the incident.
The body has been seized and sent for postmortem. While the man was suspected to have died by suicide, police said the exact reason of his death would be ascertained after a thorough investigation.
