Jagannath Temple in Puri
Bhubaneswar: Protesting the inaction of the state government in the missing Ratna Bhandar keys of the Jagannath temple in Puri, the state BJP unit on Monday began its weeklong stir across Odisha.
According to the announcement made by BJP state president Basant Panda at a press briefing in Puri on June 8, the party will stage a protest demonstration in all district headquarters and sub-divisions on June 11.
“From June 12 to 19, our party workers would stage demonstration before all police stations and lodge FIR against the state government. During the period, diyas would be offered in all Jagannath temples in the state by the activists of the BJP Mahila Morcha,” Panda pointed out.
Meanwhile, at a press meet in Balasore on Sunday, senior BJP leader Pratap Sarangi said the state government is trying to hoodwink the people saying that the Ratna Bhandar keys are missing. “The fact is that the keys have been deliberately lost. We will demand a CBI probe into the incident,” Sarangi pointed out.
“We will vehemently protest against the BJD government under whose tenure even Lord Jagannath is not safe. Our party would never tolerate injustice meted out to the Lord of our land,” the BJP leader said.
