‘Mission Jail Successful’: Netizens Call Allu Arjun’s Arrest A ‘PR Stunt’ After ‘Pushpa 2’ Collection Sees 70% Jump

Hyderabad: Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has seen a 70-74% growth in its box-office collections after his arrest in the Sandhya theatre stampede case, which left a woman dead and her minor son critically injured.

As per reports, the film has outperformed ‘Stree 2’, ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Animal’, and ‘Jawan’ to become the highest second-week grosser among Hindi films.

As soon as box-office reports surfaced online, it left the internet divided.

While a section of netizens seemed to be happy that ‘Pushpa 2’ was doing well in theatres despite his arrest, some others stated that box-office collections escalated because of his arrest which was a ‘PR stunt.’

A netizen claimed, “Isiliye to ye sab natak huva tha andaja 100% sale badhane ka tha😂😂😂.”

Another person questioned, “Kahi yeh arrest wala scene scripted toh nahi na 🙌.”

One user stated, “Arrest is all about strategy for hype and collections 😁😁.”

Another comment read, “When he was smiling while getting arrested, I knew it was a PR stunt!”

Referring to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, a user wrote “Bhau to jel jake snjy dutt bn gya 🔥😅,”

Another posted, “Mission jail successful 😂.”

On December 13, Allu was arrested from his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad in connection to the Sandhya theatre stampede case.
