Puri: Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty is in Puri too seek blessings of Lord Jagannath.
According to sources, Mithun had a wish to have a darshan of the sibling deities. Accompanied by his family members, priests and senior Daitapati Ramakrushna Das Mohapatra, he visited the temple on Thursday.
Before entering the temple, Mithun bowed before Patitapabana near Singhadwar. He offered Puja at the shrine of Bimala Devi, goddesses Saraswati and Lakshmi and also visited Ananda Bazaar. Later in the day, he will offer meals to Brahmins in a ceremony called ‘Bharmana Bhojan’, the sources added.
The veteran actor reached Puri on Wednesday night.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration had made all arrangements for him to have smooth darshan of the deities.
