Cuttack: Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi has filed a petition in the Orissa High Court with contempt of court allegation against the Odisha Lokayukta.
The MLA, who was expelled by ruling BJD from the party last year, mentioned in his petition that the Lokayukta had submitted a copy of a forged order of the High Court in a case in the Supreme Court.
He has mentioned Lokayukta chairperson justice Ajit Singh and secretary Manas Ranjan Tripathi as respondents in the petition filed on Wednesday.
Panigrahi’s counsellor Pitambar Acharya told the media persons that the Lokayukta has committed a forgery which is highly inappropriate on the part of the statutory authority. He admitted that they had filed a contempt of court petition against the Lokayukta.
Panigrahi was arrested on December 3 last year on charges of forgery, criminal conspiracy and cyber crime. He was released from the jail on June 12 after the Orissa High Court granted him bail in connection with a job fraud case.
