Bhubaneswar: ‘Mo Bus’ services in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and Puri are likely to resume from June 1.
According to Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) sources, a preparatory meeting will soon be held and standard operating procedure issued for the same.
The services were suspended in late March amid nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“The buses are currently engaged in transporting migrants,” informed CRUT MD Arun Bothra, adding that a decision on resumption of the service for passengers will be taken soon.
Meanwhile, 17 Mo Bus will be allowed to ferry passengers to and from airports, railway stations and bus terminals/stands/stops with the government giving the go ahead for intra-state movement of trains and buses and with flight services resuming from Bhubaneswar.
Two-wheelers, private vehicles, official vehicles, taxis (including cabs by aggregators like Ola, Uber), four-wheelers and auto rickshaws (up to 2 passengers apart from the driver) have also been given the permission to ply on roads in the state.
It is mandatory for all passengers travelling by any of these modes of transport to wear face masks.
