Bhubaneswar: In a bid to reduce physical contact, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) will accept payments from its Mo Bus passengers via the ‘Tap And Pay’ method.
The ‘Tap and Pay’ technology lets users initiate contactless payments using a mobile app and HCE (Host Card Emulation) tech. Users will be able to tap their phones near short-range wireless Android devices.
As the number of Coronavirus cases is going up in the city, this technology will help reduce the spread by reducing human interactions. This contactless payment system is accepted for online payments below Rs 2,000.
Digital and contactless payments have reportedly seen an upswing since the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak.
