Mob Sets Police Vehicle On Fire In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: A mob set a police vehicle on fire as the latter tried to intervene in a group clash in the district on Saturday evening.

According to sources, two groups of people were engaged in a clash at Bharatpur village under Balichandrapur police limits over location of a religious function.

As police arrived at the spot on being informed and tried to disperse the people engaged in the clash, they were attacked and their vehicle was set on fire. A policeman also sustained injuries in the attack.

Following the incident, three platoons of police have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order but no arrest has been made.
