Jagatsinghpur: Announcing a number of new rules for Sarala Temple in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, the authorities have imposed several restrictions for servitors as well as devotees and banned mobile phone inside the shrine.
As per the new rules, Roul Sevayats have been barred from entering the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The servitors who have not undergone the sacred thread ceremony are also barred from entering the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine.
Sarala Temple Managing Committee has issued notification about the new set of rules with the approval of the Jagatsinghpur district administration, sources said.
Carrying mobile phones into the temple has been strictly prohibited. No visitor can take photo shoots on the temple premises. Children have also been barred from entering the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
This apart, the administration has declared the temple complex a polythene-free zone. No polythene pack will be allowed into the temple, said a member of the temple administration.
Offenders will be penalised for taking mobiles and snaps inside the temple. A find of Rs 500 will be imposed for first offence and Rs 1000 for violation of rules for second time.
