Bhubaneswar: Mo Bus in Odisha capital continued to be the hunting ground for looters on the first day of 2023 on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, six mobile phones were allegedly looted inside Mo Bus which was en route to Cuttack from Nandankanan Zoological Park.
The victims learnt about the loot after they reached the judicial academy and could not find their mobile phones with them and informed the helper and driver.
A probe was initiated into the loot after the victim passengers lodged a compliant at a local police station.
Notably, the Twin City Commissionerate Police arrested seven members of a gang, identified as Nikunja Samantaray (55), Sekh Muna(33), SK Sultan(60), Halim Khan alias Rajesh (42), Prafulla Barik (40), Duryadhan Mohapatra alias Bhima (33) and SK Firoj alias Bauli (41), on December 20 for their alleged involvement in looting Mo Bus passengers.
Nine cell phones and Rs 57,000 in cash were recovered from them. Efforts are on to identify other gangs involved in this crime.
