Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Friday said that there would be moderate rainfall in the coastal Odisha from Saturday afternoon.
“A cyclonic circulation is forming over the North Bay of Bengal by the afternoon of August 25 and it will concentrate into a low pressure in the next 24 hours. Under its influence, there will be moderate rainfall in most parts of the coastal districts which will continue for four days till August 29. Apart from coastal Odisha, rain would lash north and interior districts,” said an IMD release.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, in its evening release on Friday has sounded thundershower and lightning alert for 22 districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Sonepur Balangir and Boudh and advised the people to stay indoors till 9.45 pm.
Besides, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, the release added.
