Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha will experience thundershower with light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours, said the local Met office in a release here on Thursday.
“A cyclonic circulation has formed over Bangladesh. Under its influence, there would be more rainfall in the North Odisha districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur with heavy rainfall at some places in the next 24 hours,” Director, Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas told the media here.
According to Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director, Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) at the SOA (Deemed to be University) and former Director, Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the rainfall would gradually spread to other adjacent districts due to movement of the cyclonic circulation.
He further said that there would be more rainfall in the state from August 5 as the cyclonic circulation is likely to intensify into a low pressure.
