Modi Govt To Celebrate 4th ‘Surgical Strike Day’ On September 28

New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government will, on Monday, mark the fourth year of the surgical strike conducted by the Indian military against suspected militants in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on September 28, 2016.

It was in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an Indian military base in Uri on September 18, 2016, when 19 Indian soldiers were martyred.

India Army claimed that their strike — carried out on the night of September 28 and lasting till the wee hours of September 29, 2016 — demolished six launchpads while also gunning down 45 terrorists at multiple locations.

The Modi government started ‘Surgical Strike Day’ from 2018.

‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, a movie on the the 2016 surgical strike, starring Vicky Kaushal, was released in 2019 and became a huge hit.

‘How’s the Josh’, a dialogue so intrinsic to the film, was invoked by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and became common among Indians across the country.
