Mohan Majhi Govt Effects First Major IAS Officers Reshuffle, Shunts Favourites Of BJD Regime

Bhubaneswar: The Mohan Majhi government in Odisha on Wednesday transferred two influential IAS officers – G Mathivathanan and R Vineel Krishna – in the previous BJD regime to insignificant positions in its first major bureaucratic reshuffle.

Mathivathanan, who was serving as Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) secretary for 12 years, has been appointed Director General, Training Coordination of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration. He will succeed Anu Grag. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of SD & TE Department with the additional charge of Principal Secretary, C & T Department, will replace Mathivathanan as H&UD Secretary, according to an official notification.

Similarly, Surendra Kumar, an IAS officer of 1993 cadre, has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs Department in place of Mathivathanan. This is in addition to his current assignment as Additional Chief Secretary of GA & PG Department with additional charge as Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism Department.

R Vineel Krishna, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Sports & Youth Services Department, has been appointed as Commissioner, Land Records & Settlement. Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, who is currently serving as Commissioner, Land Records & Settlement, will succeed him.

Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, has appointed Chairman, IDCO. The additional appointment of Hemant Sharma as Chairman, IDCO, will cease once Dhal assumes office, the notification further stated.

Sharma, Principal Secretary of Industries Department with additional charge of Chairman, IPICOL, has been posted as Principal Secretary, MS & ME Department. He will replace Principal Secretary to Governor with additional charge of OSSSC Chairman Saswat Mishra, who has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary of Finance Department and Principal Secretary of Energy Department.

Mishra’s predecessor Vishal Dev has been appointed Principal Secretary, E & IT Department. This is in addition to his assignment as Chairman of OFDC and GRIDCO.
