Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday exuded confidence that the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Odisha will usher in record development in the state.
The Prime Minister, who attended the swearing-in ceremony of tribal leader Mohan Charan Majhi as the first BJP Chief Minister of Odisha, termed the event historic. Two deputy chief ministers and other ministers also took oath at the ceremony held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
Modi congratulated Majhi and his deputies Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, besides other ministers during his participation in the oath-taking ceremony. .
“It’s a historic day in Odisha! With the blessings of my sisters and brothers of Odisha, @BJP4Odisha is forming its first-ever government in the state,” Modi said in a post on ‘X’.
“With the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, I am confident this team will usher in record development in Odisha and improve the lives of countless people,” the PM said.
It may be noted that Majhi, four-time MLA from Keonjhar, took oath as the 15th chief minister of Odisha with two of his deputies K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida. Thirteen other ministers also took the oath of office in the presence of a host of dignitaries at Janata Maidan.
