Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to undertake a two-visit to Sambalpur from September 8 and launch the CM Kisan Yojana in the western Odisha city on the occasion of Nuakhai festival.
According to sources, the Chief Minister is slated to be on a visit to Sambalpur on September 8 and 9. He is scheduled to launch the CM Kisan Yojana on the first day of his visit on Sunday.
The CM is also slated to attend ‘Nuakhai Bhetghat’ programmes, besides offering prayer at Maa Samaleswari temple in Sambalpur.
Notably, the Odisha government has stated that the CM Kisan Yojana will be rolled out replacing the existing KALIA scheme with an aim to effectively empower the farmers.
Under the scheme, small and marginal farmers are entitled to get Rs 4000 in two phases (Rs 2000 in each phase) annually. This apart, landless farmers will receive Rs 12,500 in three phases from the state government.
To avail the benefit under the new schemes, the farmers will have to register on the CM Kisan web portal.
