Bhubaneswar: With barely an hour to go for the swearing-in of the first BJP government in Odisha, some MLAs-elect are said to have been intimated and asked to get ready to take oath.
According to sources, Suresh Pujari (Brajarajnagar), Prithiviraj Harichandan (Chilika), Mukesh Mahaling (Loisingha), Nityananda Gond (Umerkote), Krushna Chandra Mohapatra (Morada), Rabinarayan Naik (Kuchinda), Krushna Chandra Patra (Dhenkanal) and Bibhuti Bhubsan Jena (Gopalpur) will be be sworn-in as cabinet Ministers.
Suraj Suryabanshi (Dhamnagar), Pradip Balsamanta (Sukinda), Sampad Swain (Paradip), Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia (Jashipur), and Gokula Nanda Mallick (Polasara) will take oath as ministers of state with independent charge.
Sources further said that Surama Padhy (Ranpur) could be the party’s pick for the Speaker post.
Chief Minister-designate Mohan Charan Majhi along with his two deputies K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida and the council of ministers will take oath at Janta Maidan here around 5 pm. The event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, and Nitin Gadkari, and CM of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal Sharma, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, among others.
Outgoing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has also reportedly consented to be present at the swearing-in ceremony.
