Mumbai: Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik was on Monday been sent to judicial custody till March 21 in a money-laundering case linked to Dawood Ibrahim.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, arrested on February 23, was sent to Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till March 3, which was extended till March 7.
ED demanded that Malik be sent to judicial custody when he was produced before Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court on Monday.
ED has alleged that the 62-year-old Malik used to introduce fake tenants on properties purchased with gangster Dawood’s money to reduce registration value of the land.
