Bhubaneswar: A monitor lizard was rescued from the house of Pabitra Behera near Lingaraj Haat at Old Town in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Pabitra, who stays on the first floor of a rented house, said he heard some noises at the toilet on Thursday and opening it he found a monitor lizard, sitting on the toilet seat.
After all their efforts to shoo it away went waste, they locked the door and requested Snake Helpline General Secretary Subhendu Mallick for help.
On Friday, Mallick reached the house but he too had a tough time in grabbing the reptile. He managed to trap it after four hours.
Mallick took the monitor lizard in a gunny bag and released it in natural habitat.
