Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday informed that Southwest Monsoon has advanced further and covered the entire Odisha, which is likely to witness heavy rain activity with orange warning issued for some wester districts on June 25 and June 26.
The MeT office further said that the state received 21.3mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, 139% more than the usual 8.9mm. Malkangiri district recorded the highest 52.5mm rainfall, which is 591% more than usual.
According to the midday bulletin, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack till 8.30 am on Saturday. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is also likely at isolated places in Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.
