Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday tweeted that the monsoon flow strengthening over the Bay of Bengal.
Therefore, the associated clouds became more organised. A low pressure area likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood around June 11, it tweeted.
On Tuesday, the Met Office had said that the low-pressure area will push the monsoon further and trigger heavy rainfall. The southwest monsoon is expected to hit the Odisha coast in 2-3 days.
There will be heavy rainfall across the state from the afternoon of June 10 with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places, which will continue for four days till June 14, it said.

Due to heavy to very heavy rainfall, there will be water-logging and localised/flash flood in some places resulting in the damage of horticultural crops/vegetables. Besides, there will be some damage to informal/kutcha road and traffic congestion and disruption of municipal services due to water-logging in urban areas, the IMD added.
