Bhubaneswar: Odisha will continue to reel under sultry weather conditions with regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicting severe heatwave conditions in western districts under the effect of dry and hot wind flow for the next three days.
Yellow warning has also been issued till 8.30 am on June 11. High humidity may make life miserable in most parts of the coastal areas during the period.
Amid the prediction of a delayed monsoon, IMD scientist Umashankar Dash said that conditions are favourable for its onset over the state by June 13. “However, there is no clear forecast regarding this as yet,” he added.

Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir, and Boudh.
Light to moderate rain is also likely at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak during this period.
8.30 am on June 9 and 8.30 am on June 10
Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, and Boudh.
Light to moderate rain is also likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Gajapati.
8.30 am on June 10 and 8.30 am on June 11
Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, and Boudh.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Balangir.
Light to moderate rain is also likely at a few places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, and Kalahandi and at one or two places in the rest districts of Odisha.
While rainfall and thunderstorm activity will continue for another two days, the IMD has forecast no large change in the daytime temperature for the next three to four days.
