Assembly Monsoon Session: COVID-19 Test For Odisha MLAs, Their PSOs & Drivers On Sept 27-28

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the monsoon session of Odisha assembly, all MLAs, their drivers, security staff and employees at the State Secretariat will undergo RT-PCR COVID-19 test at a special camp on September 27 and 28.

“The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation will put up tents and make all other related arrangements at least three days before the commencement of the Assembly session while the Health Department will deploy required doctors and medical staff with testing materials on the Assembly premises so that all facilities are in position before testing,” an official notification said.

In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the Speaker has also directed to observe the following precautionary measures:

The monsoon session of Odisha Assembly will be held from September 29 to October 7. The Assembly will also meet on Sunday during this period.

A special session of House, which lasted for one hour, was last held at the Convention Hall of the Lok Seva Bhawan on March 30, during which the Appropriation Bill was passed and the annual budget 2020-21 was approved.
