Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon, which entered some parts of Odisha on Friday, spread to all remaining parts of the state on Saturday, said the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar in a mid-day release.
The low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Bengal now lies over interior Odisha while the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8km above mean sea level is tilting towards a southwest direction.
Under its influence, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at most places over the districts of interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha with heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir and heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati and Boudh in the next 24 hours, the release said.
