Bhubaneswar: With the southwest monsoon advancing further into Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a heavy rainfall warning for most parts of the state.

Going by the modular study, it will cover the entire state in the next 24 hours.

The bulletin further said that while the low-pressure area lies over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and north Odisha, the associated cyclonic circulation tilting southwestwards is likely to become more marked and move westnorthwestwards across Odisha, Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh during the next 23 days. Apart from this, a monsoon trough is running from south Punjab to the centre of the low-pressure area.
