Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for Puri and Khurda, including Bhubaneswar, till 1.15 pm.
Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning likely at these places within next 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
While thundershowers on Wednesday afternoon provided the much-needed relief from the sultry weather conditions, waterlogging was reported from Bomikhal, near Iskcon Temple and other areas of the city with just 7.7 mm rainfall. With vehicles getting stuck in roads under water, traffic police issued an advisory for avoiding the Rasulgarh-Laxmisagar route and the stretch from CRPF Square to Nayapalli via ISKCON temple.
