Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital saw 170 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which pushed the affected tally to 5289 on Sunday.
Among them, 92 are quarantine and 78 are local contact cases.
According to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 86 of the quarantine cases are contacts of previous patients while six have travel history. Three among them are central government employees and another five staff of private hospitals.
Among the local contact cases, three each are from Bharatpur and Dumduma.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised. They will be under active surveillance,” the civic body tweeted.
The BMC informed about another 184 patients recovering from the infection.
With 25 deaths and 3435 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1823 active cases.
