Inaugurating the new portal under the 5T initiative, the Chief Minister said while 21 student scholarships are presently provided by six departments, the new portal www.scholarship.odisha.gov.in will enable aspiring and deserving students to apply for a scholarship from their home and avail it within a specified time frame.
Stating that this unitary portal will manage the scholarship programmes of the ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes, Higher Education, School and Mass Education, Labour & ESI, Skill Development & Technical Education and Agriculture departments, he said as the new portal is linked to the State Treasury, the scholarship money will be directly credited to the bank account of the students.
