Bhubaneswar: With dengue spreading its tentacles across Odisha, Director of Public Health Dr Nilakantha Mishra on Tuesday said 2759 people have so far been infected in the state.
Most of the positive samples, 865, were from Sundargarh followed by 837 in Khurda district,
“Out of 70,000 tests conducted, 2759 samples were found positive for dengue. Of the positive samples, the highest of 865 were from Sundargarh followed by 837 in Khurda district,” Dr Mishra said.
More than 500 dengue patients have been identified in Bhubaneswar alone, he added.
The dengue cases are likely to increase amid forecast for more rains in Odisha., Dr Mishra further said.
