Bengaluru: In a horrific accident, a woman and her daughter were crushed to death after a concrete mixer truck lost control and toppled onto their car on Kaggalipura-Bannerghatta Road here on Thursday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Gayathri Kumar, 46, and her 16-year-old daughter Samantha, residents of Kaggalipura, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
According to the police, Gayathri, who worked in a private firm, was on way to drop off her daughter, a class 10 student of Sherwood High School located on Bannerghatta Road when the speeding concrete mixer vehicle crushed them on the spot.
The bodies were stuck inside the car for a long time, and had to be recovered with the help of four cranes and a JCB.
Police are on the lookout for the driver of the concrete mixer truck, who fled after the accident.
