Mortal Remains Of Odia Actor Pintu Nanda Consigned To Flames In Puri

Puri: The mortal remains of Odia actor Pintu Nanda were consigned to flames at Swargadwar in Odisha’s Puri on Friday afternoon.

The body of Pintu, who passed away while undergoing treatment at a Hyderabad-based hospital on Wednesday night, was taken in a flower bedecked vehicle from Bhubaneswar and reached the Swargadwar at 1.30 pm. After the last rituals were performed at the cremation ground, his elder son Sai Nanda lit the funeral pyre at around 3 pm, according to the deceased actor’s family sources.

Besides Pintu’s relatives, Ollywood actors, actresses, fans and followers present at Swargadwar bid a tearful adieu to the departed soul.

The body of the actor was brought to Bhubaneswar in a flight on Thursday night after he breathed his last at Hyderabad hospital. His wife, relatives, fans and Ollywood actors were present at Bhubaneswar airport.

Pintu was undergoing treatment for cirrhosis of lever at the hospital in Hyderabad.
