Are your electricity bills soaring just as temperatures are rising? Air-conditioners are by far the most energy-hungry appliances we use in our offices and homes. But did you know that replacing an old air conditioner with a new one or choosing a 5-star inverter AC can halve your electricity bills?
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) rates (0-5) and labels appliances on their energy efficiency. The yellow and red stickers on an air conditioner can tell you how much power the appliance consumes. A higher star (5) equates to lower power consumption.
BEE measures this efficiency according to the ISEER (Indian Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) value. An air conditioner with an ISEER value of 4.5 and above is rated 5 stars. But 2 5-star rated ACs will have different power consumption if their ISEER value is different. Simply put, higher the ISEER value, lower will be the electricity bill.
Here are the most efficient inverter ACs that you should buy to have the lowest electricity bill:
Also buying an efficient air conditioner which consumes less power equates to lower polluting carbon emissions from power plants.
