Sambalpur: In a shocking incident, a woman and her six-year-old daughter ended their lives by jumping into a well in Kinaloei village under Katarabaga police limits here on Sunday.
The woman has been identified as Tikeswari Bhoi (40) while the identity of the daughter is yet to be ascertained.
According to sources, the woman and her family were celebrating Nuakhai at her house. Later, she came out of the house and jumped into the well.
The locals, who were present there, tried to save them but failed. The fire brigade personnel reached the spot and fished out the bodies from the well. The exact reason behind the incident is not known.
