Balangir: The Childline staff rescued twin baby daughters from inside the toilet in Bolangir railway station in the early hours of Sunday.
“The health condition of the twin babies is stable. We have examined them and found that they have no infection. They are active and given proper feeding,” said Dr Surajit Nayak of the district headquarters hospital.
“I was waiting for a train at the station when I heard the cry of a baby inside a toilet around 3 am. As I went inside, I found two babies inside a large bag and informed the Railway Police,” Kapileswar, an eyewitness, told the media.
Meanwhile, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has begun a probe into the case. Efforts are on to trace the woman, who had dumped her twin daughters.
