Khurda: In a horrifying incident, a married woman was allegedly kidnapped from her house while coming out for washroom and then gang-raped, in Tangi area of Khurda district on Friday (July 17). Two youths are alleged to be involved in the crime.
Going by the sources, woman is a mother of five, of which three children are reportedly disabled. Her husband being a construction worker currently stays in Bengaluru.
Reports say, when the woman was going to the washroom, two youths lurking nearby spotted her and kidnapped her. They tied her hands and mouth and fled with her on a bike.
The youths took her to an isolated place near Badi Bajar and gang-raped her. Later, the woman escaped from the spot and managed to reach her father’s house, where she is currently lodged in. The woman is said to traumatised by the turn of events.
The woman, accompanied by her brother, later filed a complaint at the Kuhudi Police Station on July 18. Locals have demanded strict action against the miscreants at the earliest.
