Mumbai: Reacting to the speculation about alleged separation from her husband, actor Mouni Roy urged people to give them ‘space and privacy’ and refrain from jumping to conclusions based on rumours.
For the past few days, Mouni found her personal life making headlines after rumours about trouble in her marriage with Suraj Nambiar began circulating online. The buzz started when social media users noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram, leading to speculation about a possible split.
Amid the growing chatter, Mouni issued a statement on Wednesday, requesting people to respect their privacy.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Humbly requesting all the media houses to not publish false narratives and give us space and privacy. Please.”
She also added a folded hands emoji to her note, requesting everyone to stop speculating about her personal life.

Over the years, Mouni and Suraj frequently shared loved-up moments and vacation pictures on social media, giving fans glimpses into their relationship. However, their recent Instagram activity triggered concern among followers, with many wondering if all was well between the couple.
While Suraj has now reportedly deleted his Instagram account, Mouni still has pictures from their 2022 wedding and honeymoon on her profile despite unfollowing him.
Mouni and Suraj first met during a New Year celebration in Dubai in 2018 through common friends and quickly connected.
Despite living in different cities, Suraj in Dubai and Mouni in Mumbai, the two maintained a long-distance relationship and often travelled to spend time together. The couple eventually got married in 2022 in Goa with both Malayali and Bengali wedding ceremonies. Their celebrations also included traditional haldi and mehendi functions.
Notably, before tying the knot, Mouni had never publicly confirmed her relationship with Suraj.
Sharing their first wedding pictures on Insta, Mouni wrote, “I found him at last.. Hand in hand, blessed by family and friends, We’re married! Need your love and blessing. Love, Suraj and Mouni.”
